As you wait for your puppy to be old enough to be with you, now is a great time to start studying up on what you can do to help adjust you and your puppy into your new lives together. BASICS
This is great for carrying your new puppy around outside of the house with you to safely socialize him until his shots are complete.
Super important to have a harness not just a collar to a leash. Harnesses protect little dog’s fragile throats.
I love adorable tags! This Etsy shop will make you something custom and adorable, ask for the smaller size tag to fit the size of your puppy so that your cute puppy doesn't have a huge tag dangling from his neck, and they can put your phone number on the back.
Potty Training
Perfect size to put a grocery store bag in as a liner and great size for kids to carry as they use the Pooper Scooper in their other hand!
Buy this to install the Dog Door into the wall. We have part of our yard fenced off for a potty area and highly recommend it, then you don't have to worry about kids stepping in doggy doo when they are playing in your backyard.
If you don't have a doggy door than this is the next best thing. Attach it to your door knob and touch your pup's paw to it every time before taking him out to potty. Eventually he will catch on that ringing the bells means he gets to go outside to potty and he will start doing it on his own. Super simple, used these for years before we finally installed our doggy door.
This is what I have always used to clean up accidents off of carpet, hard floors, and even my children's bed when my kids had an accident. It has the enzymatic formula that kills the living bacteria so that you and your pups no longer smell the accident and I have been pleased with it.
Love this! Perfect size for kids to help if you get the xs size, I like the small size for adults.
The Clearly Loved Pets pens are expensive but beautiful. You'll want to get 36" in height because these dogs can jump high.
You need a safe space to put your puppy if you can't keep an eye on them or if you need to leave the house for a few hours. This is really important especially while you are potty training them. The playpen should have 4 areas: Sleeping, Eating, Potty, and Play.

Great to go under the puppy play pen so you can have the play pen on carpet in your main family room. Lowes sells vinyl flooring in rolls so you have to buy in 12' long sections but can cut down to size with scissors. I bought a 12' x 5' section and then cut it in half so I had two 5' x 6' sections. It cost me $60 and I got two puppy floorings from it and it looks great in my house. They have many different designs and colors as well.
Grooming
My friend and fellow breeder has designed these top quality kits that are incredible! There is soooo much included in these, including how to short videos! Well worth the money. You can choose between the different kit types!
Get them used to brushing their teeth while they are young so that they will be used to it when they are older. Brushing their teeth every day is recommended. I love this finger tooth brush and poultry toothpaste, thus far my dogs hate it the least.
These were a game changer for me. They cut so so so much better than any trimmer I have used before.
These are awesome for trimming the potty areas, and the bottom of paw pads in between groomings.
Powder to stop the bleeding if you accidentally trim a nail too short, (it's going to happen).
Ok guys this brush is a must have! I was skeptical for years but finally bought it and it is worth every penny! By far the best slicker brush out there, Make sure to brush every 1-3 days to avoid mats.
MY FAVORITE PRODUCT OF ALL!!! SAVES TONS OF TIME!! This thing dries your dog so much faster than your average human blow dryer. It has a low and high heat and a dial to adjust to almost no wind speed to insanely intense wind speed. It's amazing! Highly recommend if your dog is over 10 lbs.
Makes your puppy’s coat super soft and smells so good! I know it says de-shedder on it and we don't need to worry about shedding, but I like it because of the smell.
Use these once a week at bath time. Put a few drops in then rub ears and wipe out with a cotton ball. This is really important for our puppies because they have the adorable long floppy ears that can get infections easily.
Use this to clear out the hairs in your dog's ears. put a little bit of powder in and it helps you grip better as you pull out the hairs a little at a time. Follow up with the Ear Wash and Dry on a little bit of a cotton ball and wipe out the ear.
Use this very fine tooth flea comb to help get out the eye goobies in the corner of the eyes if your pup tends to get them. It's important to keep up on maintenance trimming of the corner of the eyes of your pup. That will help a lot to keep eye gunk from forming hard crusties in the fur on the corner of the eyes.
Use these to trim the hairs around the corner of the eyes, and around dogs private areas. Use the thinning shears to make the trim less blunt. The metal comb brushes deep to avoid or get out mats, I use it after the Slicker brush.
Groomer recommended to protect dog’s ears if they are scared of the loud blow dryer sound while you dry their body. I personally don't use this but a groomer recommended it.
Bedding
I like the crates with the divider to make it so the crate can grow in size with the puppy as you crate/potty train. The double door makes it easy to fit into different areas of your house. I recommend the 36" with dogs around 18-30 lbs like our Cuddle Cavapoos
Dogs like having a cozy enclosed place they can go to when they want to feel safe or sleep, make sure to get the size that fits your crate. There are many different patterns on Amazon.
These are beautiful, I recommend them though for when your pups are past their teething age, or only to be used when you are around to watch them until their teething has ended.
This can help with puppies at night, and being left alone for short times especially if this is your only dog.
Food & Treats
This is the food your puppy will come home eating, the kibble is tiny and I use it as I train too. Chicken is the first ingredient and they LOOOOOVE it! There are a lot of dog foods out there that are shady. Diamond Naturals has proven to be a great Company and dog food. Not the cheapest but also not the most expensive either.
My dogs LOVE these dog treats and there are so many in the bag that you can easily break down to smaller pieces as well.
Playtime & Boredom busters
I put their kibble in this toy and they love bobbing it around to get the kibble to fall out. It has two adjustable openings so you can change the difficulty.
Lasts super long. Some puppies love them and some are off and on with them, but they are a great chew options.
Puppies love these, tuck in some kibble and watch your puppy have a great time developing her nose.
I love these cow hooves. They last a super long time and I have yet to meet a dog or puppy that didn't love them. These will be your best friend through your puppy's teething months.
